So many things to do on Tuesdays! So anyhow, today I sewed. I made 2 more of the Star of Virginia blocks for the QAL. I decided that if I make 3 of each of the blocks, I can have a lap quilt to keep, and 2 to give away as Christmas gifts. :)
So, here's my next two.
The first one is a batik. I have a ton of batiks and I guess they are not really being used very much anymore. Personally I LOVE batiks. Anyhow, I must of ripped out at least 15 seams in this block. Ended up making a new beige piece since one of them just wouldn't work for some reason. Then the one I used was bigger and then the original center I cut too small by 1/4" and YIKES! But I finally got it done!
This next one is bright. I like bright colors. :)
The blue and the yellow were my school colors when I was in junior high school, and I caught myself singing the fight song from WAAAAAYYYYYY back then! YIKES! (that's 2 yikes for one day!) Anyhow, it's bright and cheerful. I love bright.
I guess the "modern" fabrics are mostly either solids, or fairly light and airy prints on white backgrounds.
I haven't bought fabric for some time, and I guess most of what I have is not considered modern! I did order some solids. I also ordered a quilt kit in solids, can't wait to get the kid and make that quilt. I LOVE colors that remind me of the sea, and that's what this kit does for me. Love the darn thing, loved the quilt the moment I saw it on someone's blog and so I gave in and I ordered it. :)
I love quilt kits because I tend to buy a lot of extra fabric when I pick out fabric for a quilt. Guess that's why I have a humongous stash!.
Ok, gotta get busy and read my book for bible/book study tonight, then feed the dogs and then jump in the shower and then get ready to go!
Have a great day and quilt happy! God Bless, Anne
