It's COLD and I am not overly fond of COLD!

It's chilly here in the winters, but it's going to be in the teens tonight.  That's about 10-15 degrees colder than I would like!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.   Mine was very quiet, went to the VFW for lunch with friends and it was just very nice.  :) 
I bought myself a new camera for Christmas!  My very first digital many years ago was a Sony, then a Nikon (with 1 megapixel!) and then I bought a BIG Nikon D50 which is a DSLR and I have several really nice lenses that go with it. But bottom line, it doesn't fit into my purse, and I don't always want to lug around a big camera bag.  :(
So about 5 years ago I bought myself a Pentax point and shoot.  I choose the Pentax because I had several film cameras that were Pentax and I was always very pleased with the pictures they took and the fact that they were well made and never gave me a minutes trouble.
My old Pentax digital is 8 megapixels and 5x optical zoom.  It has served me very well and I believe most of the pictures on my blog have been from that camera.  It still works great.  BUT that zoom isn't "all that" anymore!
So I bought a new Pentax camera, 16 megapixels and 18x optical zoom.  And the digital zoom is 130x.  I just love it!  Now, some pictures....

 The pictures of the cameras were taken with my cell phone.  I'm not overly fond of the cell phone camera though, it's not all that!  But anyhow, you can see that the black camera (the new one) is bigger than the old camera.

And this picture is with digital 100X zoom.  A bit blurry, but I know what it is!
I tried to use the 130X zoom, but it got way too close and I couldn't get the picture with it!

So, I'm pretty happy with my new camera.
The one thing I did notice, is that it's a lot more plastic than metal.
I paid less than $100 for it, got a great deal and really, if it lasts
for a year it's a bargain!

I was hoping to quilt today, but it didn't happen.  I had a bunch of paper work to do for our St. Vincent DePaul group and I'm almost done with it.  And the deadline is coming up VERY quickly!!  It's probably going to be late, but better late than never.   What is making it so hard is taking over in the middle of someone else's time and they aren't around to consult with and that's the hard part.  Next year it should be a piece of cake!!  (yeah, I'm sure it won't be, but one can hope!!)

Rudy is doing so very well.  It's like he was never sick.  He is going 3 and 4 hours now between pees, and I'm wondering if he didn't have a bladder infection and that's why he was going potty every 2 hours max.  Anyhow, he's his usual rambunctious self and a real pistol for sure.  He finally learned to jump up on my lap!  he was so proud of himself.  Now the next big thing will be jumping up on my bed, he keeps trying but can't quite make it.  :)  I sure do love my boy!  Alright, I'm off to get some sleep.  Have a great Friday and God Bless.   Anne
