It's going to be a puppy kind of week!

Rudy is doing well.  He's just as sweet and so cute.  He runs after me in the yard and yet occasionally he stumbles and rolls over in the yard!  Usually as soon as his little feet hit the dirt he squats makes a tinkle.  Then after chasing me around for a bit, he'll squat again and make a doodle.  Then we come into the house after a few more laps in the yard and it's time to eat!  He is really loving his food, and is beginning to lap up some water as well.  Right now I'm still soaking his food in water so he gets plenty of water.
And he's cute and funny and has the cutest growly bark and sometimes just DEMANDS attention!

Here he is out in the yard doing some exploring...

And waiting for me to run so he can chase me!

And here he's had it with playing and is making a run for the ramp to get up on the deck and then hopefully let into the house!  He's really smart, I don't have to show him things very often before he totally gets it!

Up on the deck

Sitting on the carpet on the deck!  I put the carpet up there years ago so that the dogs wouldn't get their feet or toes caught in the deck!  It really is nice when there's a lot of mud, it gets most of it before the hounds come running into the yard.

We had a really good rain today and a bit of a thunder storm and Rudy slept through it all!  He's been outside several times when it's been drizzling and doesn't seem to mind the rain at all.

All in all, I think his first week with us is going well.  I am comfortable having him and Lulu in the yard together, Lulu pretty much ignores him after a sniff or two.  She did roll him once running up the ramp, but it wasn't anything intentional and Rudy just righted himself and kept on running up the ramp.  :)

He's right at 4 pounds now.  So he's gained a few ounces in about 3 or 4 days!

And since he gets me up at 5:30 in the morning, I'm beat and ready for bed really early now!  I've seen 3 sunrises now, that's more than I've seen in the last 10 years!  These have been sweet and not real dramatic sunrises!

Have a great week folks and God Bless.... Anne

When Dutch came to live with us he was about three months. Bonnie Doon told him, "NO RUNNING WILL BE TOLERATED!"

It was a few months after she died, he actually ran across the yard, stopped.....and looked around for Bonnie! He found he enjoyed it.

Chloe just ignored Bonnie's decree and ran anyway.
